"Does consuming plant-based estrogens like soy and tofu increase the risk of breast cancer?" This is one of the most common misconceptions among breast cancer patients.

Consuming soy or tofu as part of a regular diet has no negative impact on the development or recurrence of breast cancer; in fact, some studies suggest that moderate intake may even lower the risk. Therefore, even patients with hormone receptor-positive breast cancer do not need to intentionally avoid soy.

However, taking 'highly concentrated isoflavone supplements' instead of whole foods is not recommended. Please also refer to the guidelines on recommended diets that help manage breast cancer (such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and fish) as well as foods to avoid (such as processed meats, high-fat, and high-sugar foods).
