Allergic rhinitis is a condition in which the nasal mucosa reacts excessively to certain substances (allergens). The main symptoms are sudden bouts of sneezing, clear runny nose, stuffy nose, and itching. According to the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, about 18% of Koreans experience it. The incidence is especially high among teenagers. Atopic dermatitis is a chronic skin condition in which allergic mechanisms cause ongoing inflammation of the skin.
