Acute hemorrhagic conjunctivitis is a contagious eye infection caused by an enterovirus. It is characterized by bleeding beneath the conjunctiva (the membrane covering the white of the eye), which turns the eye red. It is also called "Apollo conjunctivitis" from the time of the 1969 outbreak.2026-06-26
